Digital standee and LED standee displays.

Indoor and outdoor. Built in Bengaluru, delivered across India.

A digital standee is the printed standee at your door, turned into a screen that plays video and changes from your phone. PixelSpot builds LED standees for bright entrances and the street, and supplies LCD standees for receptions and menus. Pick a model below, or tell us the spot and we will match one to it.

What is a digital standee?

A digital standee is a freestanding, portrait screen on its own base. It does the job of a printed standee, roll-up banner or lightbox at an entrance, except that it moves, and you change it in a minute instead of sending a file to a print shop.

It needs no wall, no structure and no civil work. A digital standee plugs into a normal 230 V socket, stands on a flat floor, and on most models rolls on casters so you can move it from the entrance to the event hall and back. Content comes over Wi-Fi from PxlOS, our own content software, and on some models from a USB drive.

Why businesses replace printed standees

A printed standee says one thing until you print another. A digital standee can show the breakfast menu, the lunch combo and the evening offer on a timer, and switch to a festival greeting the night before Diwali without anyone touching it. Movement catches the eye in a corridor of static signs, and there is no reprint bill for each campaign. If you are weighing a screen against flex printing, our flex banner vs LED screen guide runs through it.

LED standee vs LCD standee.

An LED standee is built from LED modules, the same technology as an LED video wall: very bright, no glass, larger sizes. An LCD standee is a commercial display panel behind glass in a floor-standing frame, sharp from arm's length and made for indoor light.

Which one should you pick?

Start with the light. If the standee faces a glass shopfront, a sunlit entrance or the street, choose LED: an LCD panel washes out there. Then think about distance. Seen from three metres or more, LED's larger face does the work; read up close, like a menu or a directory, an LCD standee is sharp and costs less to own. Plenty of businesses use both: an LED standee at the door and LCD standees inside. For the same question at wall size, see LED wall vs LCD video wall.

Want the slimmest indoor LED option that hangs or leans like a framed poster? That is an LED poster display, and it has its own page on LED poster displays.

Indoor vs outdoor standees.

Indoor and outdoor standees look alike in a photo but are built very differently. Putting an indoor standee in the wrong spot is the most common mistake we see.

Indoor standees

Up to 600 nits, which is plenty for a lobby, a showroom or a mall corridor, and dimmed for comfort so they do not glare. Indoor LED cabinets are rated IP43. Fine pitches (P1.5, P1.8, P2.5) keep faces and fabric sharp for people walking close by.

Models: Studio LED standees and the LCD standee range.

Outdoor standees

Up to 4,500 nits, so the picture reads in Indian daylight, with auto-dimming after dark: above about 500 nits at night a screen is just glare. Outdoor Titan standees are rated IP65 at the front and IP54 at the rear against rain and dust, and use P3 or P4 for pavement and road distances.

Models: Titan outdoor LED standees and more outdoor standee formats.

The in-between spot: behind glass

A standee in a shop window facing a bright street is an outdoor problem, even though it is indoors: daylight through glass overwhelms an indoor panel, so we fit an outdoor-grade LED standee, dimmed to suit. For a covered entrance, a petrol pump canopy or a hotel porch, the survey checks the sun and shade before we pick the model.

Need a screen on a counter rather than the floor? The LCD Desk series (Desk 10, Desk 10 Touch and Desk 10 Pro, 10.1 inch) is made for reception desks and checkouts. Compact LED panels for a wall: indoor Cinema 32, 42, 53 (P1.8) and Landmark 42, 53, 64 (P2.5); outdoor Titan 32, 42, 63 and Landmark 63, 64 Outdoor. Everything else is in the PixelSpot store.

Pixel pitch and viewing distance.

Pixel pitch is the gap between the centres of two LEDs, in millimetres. Smaller pitch means more pixels on the same face and a sharper picture up close. The rule of thumb: allow about 1 metre of comfortable viewing distance for every 1 mm of pitch. A 2-foot-wide face carries roughly 240 pixels across at P2.5 and roughly 340 at P1.8, which is why fine pitch matters most on a narrow standee.

PitchComfortable fromWhere it fits on a standee
P1.5about 1.5 mLuxury retail, jewellery counters, boardrooms: people stand right in front
P1.8about 1.8 mShowroom aisles, hotel receptions, mall store entrances
P2.5about 2.5 mBusy entrances, event foyers, corridors read from a few steps away
P3about 3 mOutdoor storefronts and pavements (Titan series)
P4about 4 mOutdoor plazas, event gates and drop-off points read from further back

The distances are a comfort guide, not a limit: a standee is readable from much further away. Try your own numbers on the viewing distance calculator or read the pixel pitch guide. Indoor pitches we build: P1.2 to P2.5. Outdoor: P2.5 to P10.

One standee or several?

One at the door

The common start: one standee replaces the printed board. A 2 × 5 ft face shows a person head to toe, which suits fashion, salons and gyms.

A pair, or a row

Two standees flanking a door, or a line along an atrium or expo booth. The 3 × 5 Studio supports multi-screen cascading, and PxlOS runs every standee from one account.

When a wall makes more sense

Lining up three or four standees side by side? A single LED wall gives one seamless picture, one controller and one install. See LED video walls or LED screens and displays.

Content with PxlOS.

PxlOS is PixelSpot's own content software, and every LED standee works with it. Run the screen from your phone: upload a video or image, build a playlist, schedule it by hour or day, and send it over Wi-Fi. Some models, such as the 2×5 Studio, also play straight from a USB drive. One account runs one standee, or every screen across your branches.

What to play on a standee

Design for the shape

A standee is portrait. Make content at the face's own proportion: 1:2 for a 2 × 4 ft standee, 2:5 for 2 × 5 ft and 3:5 for 3 × 5 ft. A landscape video squeezed onto a portrait face wastes most of the screen.

Keep it short and large

People give a standee a few seconds. One message per slide, large text in the upper half, 6 to 10 seconds a slide, and real movement rather than slow fades.

Schedule by the hour

Menus by time of day, weekend offers, a festival greeting set up in advance: what a printed standee can never do.

We help you start

We hand over with your first content loaded and show your team how to change it. Outside Bengaluru we do the setup with you online, one to one.

Where digital standees work.

Retail entrances

New arrivals and offers at the door, where a printed board used to stand. See LED displays for retail stores.

Malls

Corridors where every shop competes for a few seconds. Fine pitch keeps faces crisp at 1 to 3 metres.

Showrooms

Restaurants and cafés

A moving menu at the door and an A-frame on the pavement. See screens for restaurants.

Events and exhibitions

Event companies, venues and brands that exhibit several times a year buy their own standees and wheel them from show to show. Owned, not rented. See LED walls for events and venues.

Hotels

Welcome boards, banquet and conference directions, and the day's events in the lobby. See displays for hotels.

Hospitals and clinics

Wayfinding to departments, visiting hours and health messages in waiting areas. See displays for hospitals.

Corporate lobbies

Visitor welcomes, company news and safety messages at reception. See office lobby displays.

Gyms, schools and colleges

Class timetables, admissions and notices. See gyms, schools and colleges.

We sell standees. We don't rent them.

PixelSpot does not rent, hire or lease standees or LED walls. For a one-off event, an event-AV company that rents screens is the right call. If you will use a standee several days a month, owning one costs less over time, and that is what we build.

Factory build

LED standees are assembled and burn-in tested at our factory in Jalahalli, Bengaluru, before they leave.

Install

Our own crew delivers and sets up in Bengaluru and across Karnataka. Elsewhere in India the standee arrives ready to plug in, and we set it up with you.

Support

2-year pixel-to-pixel onsite warranty on LED, 5% spare modules free, remote checks through PxlOS, and AMC support after that.

Delivery and service across India.

Every LED standee is built and tested in Bengaluru and delivered across India. It needs no structure, so it travels crated and arrives ready to plug in. In Bengaluru and across Karnataka our own crew delivers and sets up; for the rest of India we ship by road and our crew travels whenever a site needs a visit.

Buying for several branches? We deliver to each and set up PxlOS so head office runs every screen. See how we deliver to Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata and Ahmedabad, or read how we build and ship across India. You can also see screens running at our Bengaluru experience centre or tour our factory.

What decides the price of a digital standee.

Two standees of the same size can be very different builds. These are the things that set the price:

LED or LCD, and the model

LED and LCD are different builds. Within each, the size of the face sets most of the cost.

Pixel pitch

A finer pitch packs more LEDs into the same face. P1.5 costs more than P2.5 of the same size; pick the finest pitch your viewing distance actually needs, not the finest there is.

Indoor or outdoor

Brighter LEDs, weather sealing and stronger housings make an outdoor standee cost more than an indoor one of the same size.

Quantity, content and delivery

How many units, whether you want content made for you, and where they are going. Delivery is quoted upfront with the standee, never added later.

Digital standee questions.

What is a digital standee?

A digital standee is a freestanding, portrait screen on its own base that plays videos and images in place of a printed standee or roll-up banner. It plugs into a normal socket and its content changes from a phone. PixelSpot offers LED standees for brightness, size and outdoor use, and LCD standees for close-up indoor reading.

Should I buy an LED standee or an LCD standee?

Choose LED for a bright entrance, a glass shopfront or the street, for a larger face such as 2 × 5 or 3 × 5 ft, or when people see it from a few metres away. Choose LCD for receptions, menus and wayfinding indoors, where people stand close. In direct sun, only an outdoor LED standee stays readable.

Can an LED standee be used outdoors?

Yes, the outdoor Titan standees are made for it. They run up to 4,500 nits so they read in daylight, dim automatically after dark, and are rated IP65 at the front and IP54 at the rear against rain and dust. Indoor Studio standees run up to 600 nits and should stay indoors.

How do I change what plays on the standee?

With PxlOS, our own content software. Upload videos and images, build a playlist and schedule it by day or hour from your phone or browser, over Wi-Fi. Some models, such as the 2×5 Studio, also play from a USB drive. One PxlOS account runs one standee or many.

Do you rent digital standees for events?

No. We don't rent standees or LED walls. For a one-off event, an event-AV company that rents screens is the right call. If you exhibit or run events several times a year, owning your standees costs less over time, and that is what we build.

Do you deliver digital standees outside Bengaluru?

Yes. Standees are built and tested in Bengaluru and delivered across India. In Bengaluru and Karnataka our own crew sets them up; elsewhere a standee arrives ready to plug in, we set it up with you online, and our crew travels when a site needs it.

What does a digital standee cost?

It depends on the model and size, the pixel pitch, indoor or outdoor, LED or LCD, the number of units and where they are going. Get your estimate on the configurator or send the model name on WhatsApp, and our team calls you with the price.

What warranty do LED standees carry?

Every PixelSpot LED display, standees included, carries a 2-year pixel-to-pixel onsite warranty with 5% spare modules free. A single dead pixel is covered. Optional AMC support is available after the warranty.
