Ask three shop owners in Bangalore for an LED sign board and you may be shown three different things. All three are sold under the same name.
LED-lit letters
Letters cut from acrylic or metal, each lit by LEDs, that spell the shop's name and glow after dark.
Light box
Also called a glow sign board: a printed face with LEDs behind it, showing one fixed design, lit evenly at night.
Full-colour LED display
A screen built from LED modules. It shows video, pictures and text, and the message changes whenever you decide. This is the one PixelSpot builds.

Which one a shop needs.
It depends on what the sign has to say.
If the sign only ever says your name. Lit letters or a light box do the job, and they cost far less than a screen. A sign fabricator is the right call. We would rather tell you that here than at a site visit.
If the sign has to change. Offers, a menu, timings, a festival greeting, a video of the product: that needs a display. A printed or lettered sign shows one message; a display shows as many as you schedule.
If you want both. A shopfront can keep the name fixed and put a display beside or below it. The name stays put; the screen does the talking.
A printed sign board shows one message until someone takes it down. Ours is a small LED video wall fitted where the sign used to be: video in the morning, offers through the afternoon, the closing time in the evening, a festival message for the week. On the fascia, or inside the glass.
Where the sign sits decides the panel. Anything that faces the street — the fascia above the shutter, a window display, an open-front counter — gets an outdoor-grade panel, even under a roof or behind glass. Inside the shop, an indoor panel is sharper for the money.
Inside the shop
Indoor P1.8 to P2.5, up to 600 nits, IP43 cabinets. Behind the counter, on the back wall, in a showroom bay. From two metres it reads as a screen, not a grid of dots.
Outdoor P4 to P6, or P2.5 and P3 where people stand close. Up to 4,500 nits to beat afternoon sun, auto-dimming after dark. Cabinets rated IP65 at the front and IP54 at the rear for the monsoon.
If the sun ever lands on the window, the panel behind it needs outdoor brightness. Above about 500 nits after dark is glare, so the outdoor panel turns itself down at night.

Factory-direct, per square foot. The rate includes the mounting structure and installation by our crew; the controller is added once per sign, and 18% GST goes on top. Most sign boards face the street, so the outdoor range, ₹5,000 to ₹10,650 per sq ft + GST, is the one that usually applies.
One thing said plainly: a display costs many times more than a printed or lettered board, because it is a screen and not a sign with lights behind it. What the money buys is a sign that carries video and changes its message every hour without a reprint.

A display does not have to replace the name board. At Açaí Theory in Indiranagar the name stays in lit letters on the fascia, in English and in Kannada. The screen sits below it, beside the counter and facing the pavement, and carries the menu and the day's offers.
The lit name is not our work. The screen is: an outdoor P2.5 LED display, IP65 at the front and IP54 at the rear, changed from a phone through PxlOS. The café's printed menu had faded into the afternoon glare; the screen reads in full sun and dims itself at night.

No subcontractors at any step. The people who measure your fascia are the people who bolt the sign to it.
Survey. Free, and usually the same day in Bengaluru. We measure the fascia or window, check the wall behind it, find the nearest power point and note where the afternoon sun sits.
Design. A drawing of the sign at true size on a photo of your shopfront, with the pitch and brightness chosen for that spot, and the price.
Build. Cabinets and modules are assembled and burn-in tested at our Jalahalli factory. Outdoor P3, P4 and P6 use 320 × 160 mm modules, so board sizes come in steps of those.
Structure and power. A steel frame goes on the wall and the cabinets bolt to it. It runs from an ordinary shop power point, wired by our crew. Frame, wiring and fitting are inside the per-sq-ft price.
Install. Most sign-board sizes go up in a day. Street-facing cabinets are front-serviceable, so a module can be swapped from a ladder.
Every sign board runs PxlOS, our cloud CMS. Upload a video or an image, set it to play from nine to twelve, switch to the lunch offer at twelve, put the closing time up at eight. Change it from the shop, from home, from anywhere.
Content can be a plain video, a still poster with a price on it, a short logo animation, or a mix on a schedule. Outdoor panels, which most sign boards use, run from ₹5,000 per sq ft for P6 to ₹10,650 for outdoor P2.5, installed, controller and GST extra. Indoor panels run from ₹6,150 per sq ft for P2.5 to ₹14,650 for P1.2 on the same terms, plus controller and GST. Is an LED sign board the same as a glow sign board?
No. A glow sign board is a light box: a printed face lit from behind, showing one fixed design. An LED sign board, as PixelSpot builds it, is a full-colour LED display that plays video and changes its message on a schedule. Sign fabricators make glow sign boards and lit letters; we make the display.
What size should a shop sign board be?
The fascia decides. Most Bengaluru shopfronts take a 6 × 4 ft or 8 × 4 ft board; a narrow frontage takes a portrait panel and a wide showroom fascia can run 12 ft or more. Boards are built in module steps, so we match the closest size to your opening at the survey. Sizes under 6 × 4 ft are priced on survey; the configurator gives an instant figure for any size.
Can an LED sign board be used outdoors, on the fascia?
Yes, that is the usual place for one. The outdoor panel runs up to 4,500 nits so it reads in afternoon sun, dims itself after dark, and sits in a cabinet rated IP65 at the front and IP54 at the rear for Bengaluru rain. A sign behind street-facing glass needs the outdoor panel too.
How long does an LED sign board last, and what is the warranty?
Every sign board we build carries a 2-year warranty, and our own crew services it afterwards under AMC. The LEDs are rated to around 100,000 hours and dim slowly rather than failing at once; a faulty module is swapped from the front, not the whole sign.
How do I change what the sign shows?
From your phone, through PxlOS. Upload a video or an image, put it on a schedule, and the sign changes on its own: morning menu, evening offer, festival greeting. We set the first playlist up with you on install day.
Can I rent an LED sign board for a few days?
We don't rent LED walls; an event-AV company is the right call for a one-off. A sign board is bought outright, installed once and left running for years.
